7 Effective Ways To Practice Self-Care & Manage Stress

Have you seen the first glimpse of spring yet? I find it refreshing to bask in the sunshine, enjoy longer days and feel excited about what’s coming up next.

However, there are times in our lives that come with pre-packaged stress – buying a car, a house, paying for school fees, looking for jobs, so on and on.

How you deal with these stressful situations sometimes makes all the difference. Stress can either eat away at you or empower you; it all depends on the self-care strategies you deploy.

Think of the times when you’ve had to face major situations in your life, how did you manage? What did you go through? Did you come out the other side with a sense of peace, or are you still in complete turmoil?

If you find yourself feeling stressed frequently or when unexpected episodes hit you hard, it’s important to remember the value of YOU and take time for that appropriate, and so important self-care.

So take out a few minutes now and lead yourself down the path of self-preservation, because YOU DESERVE IT.

Learn to make time to care for yourself on a regular basis. Make it a priority. It’s not selfish, it’s a necessity.

I take an hour out everyday to do something for myself; it allows me to connect with my core so that I can live a fulfilling life – for myself and with my loved ones because I know for sure that I wouldn’t be of any use if I was running on empty!
