Did you go to such a school, or did you have a great teacher at home, a role model who nurtured this concept during your formative years?

Life! Yep, life is such a school and maybe you’ve experienced a few lessons yourself, I know I definitely have. Resilience is all about being able to overcome the unexpected. Sustainability is about survival. The goal of resilience is to thrive.

Would you consider yourself ‘mentally strong’? Or do you find yourself crumbling after a professional or personal setback? Do you recoil into the land of ‘I’m not worth it…’ when things get tough?

Having emotional strength is an essential part of navigating our way through life’s twists and turns. And as we all know, sometimes the sea can get really rough!

I once heard someone say that adversity builds character, and then someone else said adversity reveals character. I was intrigued and questioned myself as to how I was built and what I revealed. I’m pleasantly surprised with my resilience. I persevere, and not just blindly. I take the best, get rid of the rest, and move on, realizing that we can make a choice to take the good.
